1 Scope

This part of ISO 15926 specifies the concepts necessary for the recording of observations and measurements using ISO 15926-2.

The following are within the scope of this part of ISO 15926:

observation and measurement activities, and their relationships with:
- observation and measurement devices;
- a physical object that is observed;
- a physical property that is observed;
- a set of statements about a physical object that is the result of an observation or measurement activity;
variation of a physical property with respect to space and time;
monitoring activites and their criteria including:
- change reporting criteria;
- level crossing criteria.
