3.1 Terms defined in ISO 15926-1

For the purposes of this document, the following terms defined in ISO 15926-1 apply:

reference data;
reference data library.

3.2 Other terms and definitions

For the purposes of this part of ISO 15926, the following definitions apply:

observation

activity performed by a person, machine or both that obtains information about a property of a physical object by use of senses or sensors

3.2.2
measurement

observation that obtains a quantitative value

3.3 Abbreviations

D	Dimension (as in 1D, 2D, 3D, etc.)
TAI	International Atomic Time
URI	Universal Resource Identifier
UTC	Coordinated Universal Time
WGS	World Geodetic System

3.4 Namespaces

Reference data items defined by other standards are refered to with a namespace prefix that indicates their source.

NOTE 1 The reference data item possible_individual defined in ISO 15926-2 is refered to as iso15926-2:possible_individual.
