For the purposes of this document, the following terms defined in ISO 15926-1 apply:

observation

activity performed by a person, machine or both that obtains information about a property of a physical object by use of senses or sensors

3.2.2
measurement

observation that obtains a quantitative value

3.3 Abbreviations

D Dimension (as in 1D, 2D, 3D, etc.)

3.4 Namespaces

Reference data items defined by other standards are refered to with a namespace prefix that indicates their source.

NOTE 1 The reference data item possible_individual defined in ISO 15926-2 is refered to as iso15926-2:possible_individual.
