ISO/WD 10303-107 was prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 184, Industrial automation systems and integration, Subcommittee SC4, Industrial data.

This International Standard is organized as a series of parts, each published separately. The parts of ISO 10303 fall into one of the following series: description methods, integrated resources, application inter-preted constructs, application modules, application protocols, abstract test suites, implementation methods, and conformance testing. Introduction

This application module is concerned with mathematical values. A mathematical value can be used in the definition of a mathematical function or maths spaces, or in the identification of a property value.

1 Scope

The Maths value module defines a mathematical value, that is a member of a mathematical space. A mathematical value can be used in the definition of a mathematical space or mathematical function.

The following are within the scope of this module:

• real value;
• integer value;
• complex value;
• Boolean value.

The following are outside the scope of this module:

• array and matrix values;

  NOTE - Values of this type are within the scope of the Tabular function application module.

• the association of units with a mathematical value.

  NOTE - The use of a mathematical value to identify a property value with respect to a scale is within the scope of the Property identification application module.
